Today October 31st,2020 we lost a legend in the film industry. Sean Connery the first man to portray 007 / James Bond died at the age of 90. As far as I know and as of this writing, is only work since starring in League of Extroidanry Gentlemen was voice-over work for animated TV and films.
He lived a legendary life. Most known for being James Bond from the late 60s and even into the 80s coming back to the title character one last time. He was immortal in Highlander. He was Indiana Jones’s dad! I mean I could honestly go on about his acting career but it would take a while.
Connery is one film start that really stood the test of time because he was an action star through and through. Maybe not built like those of the 1980’s but his most memorable movies were all movies of action.
Today we say goodbye to him. He was 90 years old. I compare his passing to that of Christopher Lee’s. They were two famous guys who didn’t quit. If he had been able to continue appearing on-screen Connery would have still been doing movies.
This one hurts for all the different reasons. I enjoyed the movies he was in growing up with my dad. Today I wonder how my dad would have reacted to his passing. My dad who passed away nearly 4 years ago was a fan of his James Bond movies. He had grown up watching them. Connery was the Bond I was introduced to.
Sean Connery will always be Bond to me. Even though he lived a great and long adventurous life he will be missed!
