Today I realized that we are under a month until the Crisis Crossover. We are knee-deep in seeing this story unfold and so far I am impressed. I can’t wait to see if the writers, directors, and producers are going to keep it comic accurate or put their own spin on it because of a lack of characters! There may be a ton of surprises that we are going to get that haven’t even been announced. Today we are going to look at how a Justice League could be formed for this crisis.
If you remember back to the crossover with the alien invasion you can see what appears to be a “Hall of Justice” at Star Labs. The teams come together from the shows to combat the aliens with Barry and Oliver are leading them. This was the first taste of some sort of justice league we would get on the CW/DC television shows. With crisis looming, we will finally establish a true Justice League!
This isn’t the first time we have seen a rendition of a Justice League form in the DC universe. We have seen the Justice League movie and cartoons, but a special one to me is the Smallville Justice League. They formed in the sixth season of the show and featured Impulse, Aquaman, Clark/Superman, and Green Arrow. Following the history of that show, the League will come together whenever the world depends on it. There was also an episode that featured the JSA of this universe and I would even enjoy seeing that!
The Justice League is important to the world because it’s a team of heroes that come together when everything is in crisis. I believe that some of the episodes of the Flash have mentioned how they would need to be a team to defeat the coming crisis. I hope that is an Easter egg meaning that the league would show up.
You have all the members you need. Even Batman will be there. I think this would be an opportunity to start the crossovers with being just for the Justice League. Maybe a few episodes throughout the seasons of these shows could feature a member here or there. I mean my running theory for the Crisis is that everyone will end up on Earth one from our main shows playing on the CW.
Another thing that could bring them together is the death of a hero. At this point, we have to know that the Monitor may in fact be the Anti Monitor. The deaths of Barry Allen and Oliver Queen have just been hanging over our heads this season and I believe that one of them will make that great sacrifice. I know that Stephen Amell is leaving the show but I don’t think his death will stick. Even if it’s Barry who dies I think it will somehow be reversed. However, another team member could get lost in the battle and that could push the team to finally join up and cause the Justice League to form.
I know it seems out there but I have been wanting a Justice League in this universe for a while now! Oliver could be the leader like Batman. We already have a Superman and Supergirl, a Flash, and hopefully, soon a Green Lantern. Who knows maybe that’s what Tom Wellings Clark does. Wellings lets them know that he has a team for situations like this and they should do the same. Clark was the leader of his league and all of his members listened to him rather well, and fought by his side and in his absence.
This crossover will be the perfect time to bring in the Justice League. I have given you a great rundown on how it could be made possible. I have also given you some history with Smallville on how they used the league. I think its time to see this team come together in the Arrowverse. I can’t wait to see what happens with the Crisis Episodes and I hope for the League to finally be formed!
