Square Enix’s E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) showcase will take place on Monday, June 10th at 6pm PT / 9pm ET as stated by the companies Twitter account. This time slot was previously held by Sony, who earlier announced that they would not be attending E3 this year. With the lackluster of news from Square Enix in previous months, fans are hoping to get a lot of great announcements and release dates this year.

Square Enix has had a lot of intriguing titles that have been announced and put on the back burner to be all but forgotten about.  For instance, fans have been waiting over 4 years for any new news on the remake of Final Fantasy VII that was announced at E3 in 2015.  With a concert announced for the title, it looks very likely something will be announced. Square has also been working on a Marvel game based around the Avengers, which little to zero information has been given. Lastly, it is expected that the company will expose some more details on the Babylon’s Fall project. These are just three titles that fans hope to get more information on.

E3 has been slowly getting smaller and smaller with big gaming companies pulling out over the years (EA, Sony, etc.) to do their own events. Square Enix could hopefully bring some big news to the show this year and in doing so help E3 return to its former glory as the end all/be all event for gamers. They know they have some titles that they can make money hand over fist, it’s time for them to focus on them and give the fans what they want.

E3 will be held at the L.A. Convention Center between June 11th and June 13th with the Final Fantasy VII concert on June 9th. For more about the concert click here.
