To fans of the 1980s and/or the classic He-Man cartoon can rejoice. Prince Adam is Back as He-Man as Netflix is teaming up with Kevin Smith (From Clerks and Dogma fame) to continue the series. According to Variety, Kevin Smith announced at the Power-Con convention that he would be reviving the show. The new anime will continue the storyline from the original and answer the questions that fans have been waiting for years to get. (Does anyone actually remember any cliff hangers or outstanding plot points?).

The new show will be titled “He-Man Masters of the Universe: Revelation” and will be animated by Powerhouse Animation. When asked about more details of the new show Smith stated,

“In ‘Revelation,’ we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor!”

As fans of the classic old school series and huge fans Kevin Smith, we can not wait to see what becomes of Prince Adam and his team. Kevin Smith is a master at storytelling and a genius at keeping true to the source material. With Smith part of the project we have no doubt he will make the show exactly the way it should be. Along with Smith, if Powerhouse delivers on the animation as they did with Castlevania, there is no doubt that this is going to be a highly polished project with excellent animation and attention to detail.

The only we can hope for is that the show is a release date and that it will continue further than a single season as it has the potential to be a long-running series in our opinion. I mean who doesn’t want to see epic battles between He-Man and Skeletor’s goons for more than one run?

What are your thoughts on the new He-Man Series? What do you think of Kevin Smith being a part of the show? Let us know over on Twitter or Facebook.
