I finally caught up on the Flash after purposely not watching for the past several months.  The latest Episode “Snow Pack” actually gave me hope that Barry and Iris may actually break up.  This break up would then cause their daughter, Nora, to never be born.  If that would happen there could still be hope for this show yet.  That, of course, would not happen… It’s the Flash.  Nothing overly bad happens on this show.

It is no secret that before I stopped watching that I was very vocal that this shows needs to do something to fix itself.  Nora is the poo cherry on this show’s poo cake. The character is overly annoying and continuously makes the same mistake episode after episode and it got old very quickly.  She quickly became the worst part of this show and needed to go.

The only reason I keep coming back is that I actually like the Dibny and Kaitlin characters. Dibny maybe corny but he seems ot be the only “real” person on the show.  Kaitlin/Killer Frost being an antihero/villain from time to time gives her story something to grow into.  Killer Frost from Suicide Squad is one of the best members of that team, and hopefully, we see Kaitlin get to be the badass she deserves to be.

Even though I like them, they too are helping kill the show too.  With Flash constantly relying on his team to help him out, he is never going to grow into the “real” Flash from the comics.  The Flash in the comics is regarded as one of the smartest and cleverest detectives, and coming from Batman, that is no small compliment. Why can’t we get a Barry Allen that knows his shit?

For this show become something worthwhile to watch on a weekly basis again, the team has to disband and have Flash grow into his own hero.  The team can move on to other things, other Earths, other timelines, or whatever and crossover from time to time.  If CW wants to continue with superhero shows, maybe they spin a Cisco or Killer Frost show.  Hell, I would watch a detective show with Dibny as the main character.  Would be great to have an old school Columbo style or Psych style TV show back on the air.

Bottom line, if the show doesn’t fix itself, then maybe, like Arrow, it’s time to hang up the super suits.
