The world lost an artist and the MCU lost a King. Chadwick Boseman died at the age of 43 on August 28th, 2020. He had been fighting colon cancer privately at the 3rd and 4th stages of the disease. He starred in so many roles but the one I find most prominent is the role of Black Panther King T’Challa of Wakanda.

That role really shines through today with everything that is happening in the world. T’Challa protected Wakanda as the hero Black Panther. At first, he kept Wakanda closed off because of their vast fortunes, but later on he decided that Wakanda should be open to outsiders that it was okay to let people in. This film and the majority of The Avengers Infinity War movie really captured the African culture that lived within Wakanda.

Boseman worked while taking treatments and didn’t give up. He had reportedly signed on to do a project before his untimely passing so he was still working. Last year he was seen at an awards show and was losing weight. I know I thought that he was preparing for a role. However, he was just sick.

Boseman was a warrior in his own right. Worked through all of it and he even visited terminally ill kids while working. I say the world lost an artist but Boseman was a larger than life hero. He will be missed.
