This is the Nerd Caster Quick Comic Review.  Where one of the Nerd Caster crew reviews the comics they read this week.

Batgirl #32

Batgirl gets caught by Cormorant and gets shot.  Cormorant continues after Alejo and shoots Jason Bard in the knee, and then taking Alejo hostage.  Batgirl shows up in the nick of time, stopping Cormorant from killing Alejo.  As Cormorant and Batgirl are trying to negotiate, Jason Bard shoots Cormorant in the head, killing him and pissing off Barbara.  Batgirl and Bard argue as now Batgirl is back to the drawing board on finding out who actually hired Cormorant in the first place.

The Batgirl series has progressively gotten better.  It’s great watching Batgirl play detective and still keep her volunteer life a secret.  I am starting to think I would rather have Batgirl stay in Gotham instead of returning to Burnside.

Flash #65

At the start, Flash and Batman are still fighting against Gotham Girl.  Gotham Girl ends up using too much of her power and ends up dying.  Flash uses his lighting to bring her back to life and then they rush her to the Batcave.  In the Batcave, Barry and Batman get into an argument and Flash nearly punches Batman.  Barry leaves and heads home where he finds a note from Iris saying she is leaving for a while to sort some things out.  The comic ends with Superman and Batman investigating other heroes who seem to be acting “weird”.

The Flash/Batman crossover was pretty good.  While not a fan of any of the Flash characters, I do like where this new Batman/Superman team-up maybe going.  Maybe the Flash will become a villain.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer #2

Buffy is acting like a total stereotypical teenage female.  She wakes up on the wrong side of the bed and seems to take it out on everyone around her. Giles and she are still going over the silver relic from the previous issue while Drusilla is interrogating Anya when a demon beast emerges.

The first issue was good, this was ok.  We did get introduces to Spike for a split second and we got a glimpse of Drusilla’s evilness, now in the next issue they need to drive this home.

DareDevil #2

DareDevil is out trying to find out who really killed the man that he is being framed for.  DareDevil believes it is Wilson Fisk, the NYC Mayor, but it appears that Fisk is innocent. Matt heads back to the crime scene to look for some clues but is met by Detectives North and Higgins.  The new Detective shoots Matt and calls it in as the comic comes to a close.

DareDevil is good so far. I like that Matt is still human and not yet fully healed.  This is causing Matt some issues with being DareDevil and not being able to even take out to police officers yet.

Fantastic Four #7

The Fantastic Four and Dr. Doom are still battling Galactus in Latveria.  Dr. Doom starts broadcasting the battle to show the world that he, Dr. Doom, saved all of them.  Once the battle is over though, Dr. Doom double-crosses the Fantastic Four and sentences them to Death because they broke Latveria laws.

Fantastic Four is just meh. Period.

Detective Comics #999

Happy Birthday, Bruce! Batman has been in a VR simulator type thing that he does every year on his birthday to make sure his skills and quick goat thinking are up to speed.  The simulator tries to kill him and he tries to overcome it every year on his birthday.  After he completes the simulator he and Alfred take Dr. Leslie Thompkins out to dinner for some Indian as the comic closes.

Honestly, this is just a setup for Detective Comics 1000.
