Hideo Kojima and Norman Reedus were in attendance at the New York Tribeca Film Festival to talk the upcoming game Death Stranding. The two took to the stage to talk about the overlapping of movie technology in video games.  While talking about the technology the two graced fans with some information about the game, but not much.

GamesRadar.com quoted Kojima about the game:

“It’s an open-world action game, but it’s really something new,” said Kojima. “There are so many things happening in the real world – in America, in Europe – everything is actually connected by the internet, but in a way we’re not connected in the real world these days.”

Kojima continued on that statement by saying,

“I’m putting that as a metaphor in the game. The player will have to reconnect the world in the game. You’re very alone, there’s solitude, but you’re trying to connect. The story and the gameplay, the key word is ‘connection.’  There are so many things in-between, of course, but the key is connection.”

The game is a Sony exclusive and will be available on the Playstation 4 and most likely the Playstation 5 when it is released.  With Sony pulling out of E3 it may be some time before fans get any more information. Sony has not given a reason for pulling out of E3 but speculation, as per ScreenRant, is that it “could be part of their plan to keep up consumer satisfaction in the run-up to the announcement of the PlayStation 5.” With their lack of attendance at E3 Square Enix has taken the time slot normally slated for Sony.

It is anyone’s guess on what Sony has up its sleeve. With a lot of big titles on the way and the confirmation of the Playstation 5 in development, hopefully, fans will hear something soon. With ‘Days Gone’ being recently released, there is hope that Sony’s attention has transitioned focus to Death Stranding. If that is the case, hopefully, more news and an updated release date are not far behind.
